Stayton email service upgrade guide

Starting in November, your Stayton email service will be upgraded to the Red Condor spam filtering system with the Zimbra e-mail client being introduced in January 2011. These upgrades transition from the current email platform and Postini Spam Filtering system to provide a more robust solution for your messaging. Services will be transitioned throughout the month, when system conversions are completed. Due to technical delays, Zimbra will not be implemented until January 2011.

These upgrades are expected to be completed without issue. However, we appreciate your patience in the event of unforseen complications. This investment in upgraded email is the latest effort from Stayton Cooperative Telephone Company to provide premium service to customers and we look forward to serving you in the future.

The Zimbra web email client is a full-featured messaging and collaboration application that offers reliable email, address books, calendaring, task lists, and web document authoring capabilities.

Red Condor Spam Filter

Red Condor is a next generation email security system that eliminates unwanted email without the need to continuously monitor and adjust spam filters.

The Red Condor system provides a familiar interface to most email clients, the difference being that Red Condor contains messages caught by the filter and not delivered to your mailbox. To view blocked messages, delete, or release messages you simply need to log in to your Personal Dashboard with your login credentials. From there you may navigate and configure your settings.

The transition to Zimbra and Red Condor will begin in November

In the coming weeks, the upgraded systems will be moved into production service. For spam, a different set of “Spam Digest” emails from Red Condor will appear when your account has been migrated. For email, the Zimbra interface will take the place of the current login as you access your account. Both the Red Condor and Zimbra email will use the current login credentials, users will not have to change any access information.

Those accessing email from a desktop application will remain unaffected. Connection settings will not be changed and service is not expected to be disrupted. This applies to Outlook, MacMail, Thunderbird, or any other mail application.
