Our Connectivity Promise—Providing Our Community with Fiber Internet

At SCTC, we focus on enriching our community by ensuring that the Stayton/Sublimity area have access to the fastest, most reliable Internet available.

This is not a new promise. In 2008 we recognized the need to move from copper and wireless technology to the more sophisticated fiber optic internet. We installed over 840 miles of fiber optics, and now offer nearly 80% of SCTC members the capabilities every home deserves. We are excited to announce that in 2024, we anticipate being 100% fiber, ensuring our members a future-proof technology for years to come.

What is Fiber Internet?

Fiber internet, or fiber-optic internet, is a high-speed internet connection that utilizes cables usually made of thin strands of glass that carry data using light signals, resulting in exceptional speed and reliability.

Benefits of Fiber Internet:

  • High Speeds
  • Reliable Data Transport
  • Quality Connections
  • Symmetrical Data Transmission (you can connect a ton of devices at once)

Is Fiber Better than DSL/Cable?

  • Yes. Fiber Internet is a great option if your household has several devices connected at once or if you enjoy streaming your favorite TV show without interruptions.
  • Fiber-optic cables have a much higher bandwidth capacity compared to copper cables. This means they can transmit more data quicker, allowing for a smoother online experience for multiple users and devices without performance issues.

Reliability Redefined

Fiber Internet provides a reliable connection that you can count on, even during inclement weather or peak usage times.

This means:

  • No Buffering
  • No Lagging
  • No Slow Loading
  • No Choppy Picture

At SCTC, we are proud to offer cutting-edge fiber build internet services that bring the future of connectivity to your doorstep. With our dedication to quality, speed, and customer satisfaction, we are committed to ensuring that you experience the internet in its truest, most powerful form.

SCTC has been an integral part of the community for almost 70 years, from scholarships and sponsoring local events to partnering with local anchor institutions. Join us in embracing the future of connectivity, where possibilities are limitless, and the online world is at your fingertips.
